TEMPLO with motionQuest®: World Class Gait Analysis
Which Camera?
TEMPLO's philosophy is to capture 'Live' images and data directly to the software: recording to camera, then downloading that data to the PC before reviewing it in the software is very time-consuming.
With TEMPLO you can record directly to the computer's hard drive using 6 methods:

1/ Full HD (High Definition) Camcorders 1920 x 1080iOur preferred choice - the enhanced resolution not only increases the image quality but ensures higher accuracy when tracking and measuring. Our software allows the replay of 50 frames per second. When choosing an HD camcorder ensure it has the following:

2/ Webcams and Basic USB camerasTEMPLO can capture webcam and USB cameras, however webcams only produce 30 frames per second and the quality is poor even with the latest cameras. |

3/ Bullet CamsHigh quality bullet cams can be the answer if the ROI remains constant. They have automatic shutter speed of up to 1/10000 of a second - more light the faster the shutter. |

4/ SD (Standard Definition) Camcorder 720 x 576Whilst still available at the higher end the cost is extremely restrictive. Second hand Standard DV cameras can be found on ebay - but be sure the Firewire port still works. They can transfer live stream video via firewire (IEEE 1394) directly to your computer. Maximum distance is 20 meters - addition repeaters can extend this. When purchasing any camcorder for motion analysis, try not to get involved with useless features like the amount of 'mega pixels' it has for still photography - unless of course you wish to take holiday snaps. Many other features are simply for home video use and therefore not applicable for motion analysis. |

5/ GigE CamerasThe Gigabit-Ethernet (GigE) High-speed cameras are connected via standard Cat 6 network cabled to the computer (Desktop or Laptop) capturing 200 frames/s synchronously. The cables can reach a length of up to 100 m. All camera settings can be defined in the software. Higher frame rates can be achieved by reducing the size of the image (area of interest), all images are full frames. 640x480 pixels at 200 Hz (200 fps) 500x300 pixels at 300 Hz (300 fps) 400x200 pixels at 400 Hz (400 fps) |

6/ POE (Power Over Ethernet)Power over Ethernet can be used for some specialist high resolution recording for e.g. posture analysis (1280x1024pixels at 50fps) and high speed recordings for faster movements (1280x480 at 100fps). For ultra mobility highspeed cameras with PoE (Power over Ethernet) are integrated, which allow very long cable distances without additional power supply on the camera. |
